Brigitte is One World’s co-founder and current Director. Graduating with honors from McGill in English and German literature, Brigitte has spent over 20 years in education teaching kindergarten, elementary, middle school to college level classes. Her methods have instructed teachers of all backgrounds in the communicative, game based learning approach for well over a decade.
Madame Orliac brings a wealth of experience as well as a perfect French accent – having been born and raised in France. This is her third year working with One World students, previously she was a French instructor at UNH and a long term sub at Oyster River High School teaching French. She also volunteered with elementary students at Moharimet Elementary School in the World Language Club.
Claire is fluent in Spanish, and is endorsed by the NH State Board of Education as a Paraeducator II. Claire will join us for her second year at One World this year. Previously she spent a year teaching in Madrid, Spain, where she worked full-time teaching Science to children in grades 3-6. You may have also spotted her at the Children’s Museum in Dover where she works part-time as a program facilitator. There, she implements fun, educational activities for children 2 and up. Claire is passionate about teaching children about the world they live in. She believes in instilling a love for learning by playing games, and making it fun. We are excited to have her with us again this year. The students love her enthusiasm.
Our German teacher Claudia: Claudia is a native speaker from Germany. She has worked with International airlines for over 12 years traveling all over the world before moving to New Hampshire in 2002. Claudia’s fun and inventive style is sure to be a hit in the classroom. This is Claudia’s fourth year with One World and we are lucky to have her! She will be teaching classes at Little Harbor School in Portsmouth and the Oyster River Middle School in Durham – for the advanced group.
Patricia is a native of Colombia. She loves to share her passion for teaching her language and culture with her students. This is Patricia’s third year with One World, currently, Patricia teaches at St. Patrick Academy during the school day. She uses our One World Language methodology and teaching kit. Previously, Patricia has spent three years working as a teacher‛s aid covering a variety of topics ranging from language arts to mathematics, and is a mother of two young children.
Pranav Dadarwala Community Outreach and Communications Director
Pranav brings with him a wealth of experience. He did his undergraduate degree in graphic design at the Rhode Island School of Design and holds an MBA from Brandeis University and attended the ESSEC Business School in Paris, France. His work experience includes a stint at Penguin Books as a graphic designer as well as five years of marketing strategy and design consultation for a number of clients in the Mid-Atlantic and New England region. Pranav coordinates the program along with marketing.
Laoshi Yimi graduated from Shanghai International Studies University with a Masters Degree in teaching Chinese as a second language. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Chengdu University. Although a native Chinese teacher, her English is impeccable, and she is teaching English as a Second Language to Chinese students.
She is currently a substitute teacher for the Timberlane Regional School District but it is her passion to teach Chinese culture and language to American students. Her teaching career includes a stint at Tongji University where she taught intermediate level Chinese to international students from all around the world as well as teaching English to adult students at Birmy International English. She also spent time in Thailand at the Avik Maria School where she taught KG to high school aged students basic Chinese language and culture. Her hobbies include calligraphy, reading, travel, and outdoor activities.
Our other Spanish teacher, Zenith, is a native of Colombia, and brings with her a wealth of teaching experiences ranging from elementary and middle school to the university level. This will be Zenith’s second year teaching at One World and we’re happy to have her back! Previously she taught Math to elementary and middle school children at SENA Learning Institute in Colombia. She instructed students in science, economics, and social studies at Simon Bolivar. Lastly, she taught marketing and finance courses at Atlantic University, and served as an undergraduate and graduate student advisor. In total she has over 17 years of teaching experience. Teaching Spanish is her passion, and she hopes to share this enthusiasm for her language, as well as the South American culture, with all of her students. Zenith holds an MA in Education, along with a BA in Economics, and an MBA.
